How we work

Every issue is built from official primary sources: agendas, minutes, staff reports, recorded votes, and the attachments behind them. Each issue is drafted directly from those documents and reviewed against them before publication.

Our standard is simple: every fact traces to a specific source document, and we keep a written record of those sources for each issue. Where the public record does not contain something (for example, how each councillor voted on a motion taken without a recorded vote), we say so plainly rather than guessing.

We host our own copies of every source document so the links keep working even when a government reorganizes its website. The original government portal remains the authoritative source, and we credit it in every issue. You can browse those documents any time in our archive.

Reading an issue

Each level of government has its own issue layout. Our reading guides walk through them section by section.
